may show the president doesn't want to nominate john kerry to be secretary of state. he thought he had first term. now it looks like he may get the defense department as a consolation prize which is frightening. the real point, it's not simply the paper trail of these talking points. the administration as a whole including the white house spokesman, including the president himself on multiple occasions was following a narrative that the benghazi attack was caused by the mohammad video. there is nobody in the government who believes that except the president and knows right around him. the real question is knowing what people knew in those first days after the benghazi attack, who was it that made the decision they were going to explain it that way. i would ask susan rice between 9/11 and your appearance on those five sunday talk shows, did you talk to president obama? did you talk to the national security advisor? did you talk to valerie jarret or david axelrod? follow the trail but look at the bigger picture. >> here is the biggest picture. the guy who made this video that the adm

point that john kerry may have lost the presidential election in 2004 because of the marriage issue. that is nonsense. john kerry may have lost for any number of reasons. including massachusetts. there has only been one time in american history that ohio has voted for a mass.-based presidential candidate. you actually make a better case that john kerry lost in ohio because of massachusetts. asked governor romney. same problem. even ohio. for the country, it is not quite settled on this issue. it would be smart for the court -- it's dumb or doma. the title of an article. doma is a profoundly stupid statute and it creates lots of dysfunctions and problems and headaches just to administer. it was passed in an hysterical fit. those are not constitutional arguments. the problem for justice ginsburg and justice kennedy is take that intuition and then somehow [unintelligible] it. rohmer can be read for almost anything or nothing, depending on what you want to do with it. that is what i think the boston university opinion is such a good one. it is highly respectful of all the stuff the supr

sympathy with her, the way they actually probably do with john kerry, her potential rival to secretary of state, having taken a bunch of delegation trips with mccain around the world. i don't think it should be disqualifying if obama decides to choose her as the next secretary of state. she's the ambassador to u.n. she's not in charge of intelligence and not in charge of intelligence reports. it is simultaneously true they scrub the reports she got of any al qaeda mention. that was probably done within the intelligence community herself. her job as u.n. ambassador was to tell what that intelligence report said on the sunday shows and that's what she did. i don't think there's any reason to disqualify her based on anything that's happened in the last year. and, frankly, i guess i'd cut her a little slack for some of the political attacks she's taken. i guess i don't agree with graham and mccain on this one. but if you're going to be a diplomat, you should probably be diplomatic all the way around.
